AFMS - Automated Fiber Monitoring System
TeliSwitch AFMS system enables monitoring of all kinds of optical networks with central optical testing devices, such as OTDR.
AFMS can monitor both dark fibers and fiber optics while in use without interfering with normal operation by using Y-WDM couplers. These couplers enable the insertion of testing wavelength in the transmission line.

The AFMS is a powerful and superior solution:

- Low insertion loss – doesn’t reduce the fiber range of the testing device
The system is based on TeliSwitch’s AODF switching technology and advanced software that allows testing and monitoring automatically while the optical infrastructure is in operation.
The uniqueness of the system lies in the integrated operation of the optical switch with infrastructure testing equipment (such as OTDR). The system is implemented in 4 building blocks.
- AODF 12: N - implemented as a 12-to-many switch. The system allows the connection of the test equipment to each of the fibers according to the operator's command or performs a serial sequential test of the fibers in a pre-defined round. The test data is saved in the system database.
- OTDR and other types of testing equipment
- Y WDM splitter allows the testing of an optical fiber without disconnecting the current traffic carried out on that fiber.
- Management Network software: defines the method of operation, data storage and analysis, and alerts.
